What To Know If You Go: Algonquin Easter Egg Hunt

ALGONQUIN, IL — The village will again host its annual Easter egg hunt at Algonquin Lakes Park.
The egg hunt will be held at the park, 700 Lake Plumleigh Way in Algonquin, on Saturday morning, according to village officials. The event is geared toward younger children, who can visit with the Easter bunny, and get their picture taken before and after the egg hunt.
Egg hunting will be divided into the following age categories: 0 to 2 years old with adult, 3 to 5 yer old children, and children who are 6 years old and older.

Photos with the bunny will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the hunt will start at 10 a.m.
Last year, more than 2,000 people stopped out for the annual egg hunt, said Stacey Vanenkevort, recreation director for the village of Algonquin.

"The weather is looking great for this Saturday so we are expecting a great turnout," she said.
The village is hiding 16,000 eggs as part of its egg hunt along with 100 gold eggs, which will be scattered through the fields with fun prizes inside. The prizes inlcude Bricks & Minifigs Coupons, Churros Y Chocolate Coupons, 1 Day Pool Pass, Raising Canes coupons and a few special surprises, Vanenkevort said.
The village has added a new are for egg hunting on a basketball court, which is meant to be a more accessible surface for those who may need additional assistance or have mobility needs, she said.
