3 Killed, 5 Hurt As Vehicle Hits Group Outside Car On I-57 After Crash: Police
A second crash occurred when a vehicle hit three people who had been involved in another collision and were outside, police said.

CALUMET PARK, IL — Three people were killed and at least five were injured overnight on Interstate 57 when a group at the scene of a crash was struck by a separate vehicle, according to state police.
The incident occurred just after midnight Wednesday on the northbound interstate near 120th Street in Calumet Park, police said.
Law enforcement responded to the scene for a report of a three-vehicle collision, according to police, who said a second crash occurred when another vehicle hit three people who had been involved in the first collision and were outside a vehicle.

Three died at the scene and at least five more were taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
All lanes were closed until shortly before 8 a.m.
