3 Shot, 1 Critical In Drive-By Outside Funeral Banquet In Blue Island
Blue Island police are looking for three people who opened fire on the front of the Salavation Army Center during a funeral repass.
BLUE ISLAND, IL — Gunfire broke out at a funeral banquet when multiple gunmen opened fire at the outside of a Salvation Army Center in Blue Island, police said.
The shooting unfolded around 3:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Worship and Community Center. 2900 W. 127th St., Blue Island. The facility had been rented for a post-funeral banquet.
Initial reports indicated an unidentified vehicle with multiple gunmen inside opened fire on the front of the facility. A guest inside the center returned fire at the vehicle. Police said the guest had a valid CCL.

Blue Island paramedics took two people with gunshot rounds, one critical to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. A third person self-admitted to a different hospital.
One person was taken into custody for questioning. More information will be released when appropriate.
