Alsip-Crestwood Schools Closures, E-Learning On Tuesday: UPDATED 1x

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD — School districts are starting to announce closings due to a cold weather advisory that has plunged the Chicago region into the first deep freeze of 2025.

Meteorologists predict wind chills of 20 to 25 below will persist through Wednesday, with the coldest conditions late Monday into Tuesday.

The following Alsip-Crestwood schools have announced closures and/or declared Tuesday, Jan. 21, an e-learning day, including:

• CHSD 218 (Richards, Shepard, Eisenhower) - closed, e-learning; all after-school home athletic events and activities have been canceled for Tuesday
• Dist #125 (Atwood Heights) - closed, e-learning
• Dist #126 (Alsip, Hazelgreen and Oak Lawn) - closed, e-learning
• Cook County SD 130 (Alsip, Blue Island, Crestwood, Robbins) - closed, e-learning
• Saint Xavier University (Chicago) - e-learning, work at home
