Alsip-Crestwood Schools Late Starts, E-Learning, School Closures: Atwood Heights D125
School districts are announcing late starts, e-learning and closures ahead of the winter storm Sunday into Monday.
ALSIP, IL — School districts are starting to call remote learning and/or delayed openings in advance of the winter snow storm bearing down on Chicago. An "impactful" lake effect snow threat could bring up to 6 to 18 inches of snow to the area on Sunday into Monday. A winter storm warning is in effect until noon Monday
Atwood Heights School District 125, which includes Hamlin Upper Grade Center (Alsip), Meadow Lane School (Merrionette Park) and Lawn Manor (Oak Lawn) will open an hour later, Monday, Nov. 10.
First and second-graders at Lawn-Manor will start school at 9:15 a.m.; early childhood, pre-K and kindergarten will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The school district said it will notify families by 1 p.m. Monday, if after school activities are cancelled.
Alsip-Hazelgreen-Oak Lawn Dist. 126, will have a ONE-HOUR LATE START tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 10, due to the anticipated morning winter weather conditions. The late start will delay all school and bus operations by one hour. Schools will end at the normal time. Afternoon bus routes will run the regular schedule.
