Patrons Can Check Out Items At Other Libraries During AMP Library Renovations
The Alsip-Merrionette Park Public Library will be temporarily closed for renovations starting Friday, May 9 and will re-open in mid-June.

ALSIP-MERRIONETTE PARK, IL — Patrons of the Alsip-Merrionette Park Library, 11960 S. Pulaski Road, Alsip, have until Thursday, May 8,to check out books, media, games and items from the Library of Things before the library will be closed Friday, May 9,for renovations. The library is tentatively set to reopen by mid-June when the project is completed.
The 1980s-era building will get a refresh. Including replacing carpeting and flooring, repainting the walls, and rearranging bookshelves. Some parts of the library will get new furniture.
Any books and materials that are checked out before Friday will have a return date of July 1. Meanwhile, patrons can use their cards at neighboring suburban libraries. If you’re waiting for items you have requested, you can pick them up at another SWAN library

Meanwhile, patrons can put a hold on a book and pick it up at the Blue Island, Palos, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park or Worth public libraries.
During this time, patrons may use their cards at neighboring suburban libraries. If you are waiting for items you have requested, you can pick them up at another SWAN library, that includes over 100 Chicagoland public libraries, including college and special libraries.
