Back To School: Cook County Dist. 130 School Calendar 2022-2023

BLUE ISLAND-CRESTWOOD, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Cook County Dist. 130 for the 2022-2023 academic school year, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the new school year.

The first day of school for K-8 students is Aug. 17 at Dist. 130 schools in Blue Island, Crestwood and Alsip.

Some dates are subject to change during the school year. We also suggest that you check the Dist. 130 calendar for late starts, early dismissals, exams, open houses, athletic and school events, as well as your child’s school.

Here is the list of dates to know for Dist. 130 schools this school year:

Aug. 17 - First day of school

Sept. 5 - Labor Day, no school

Oct. 10 - Columbus Day, no school

Nov. 8 - Election Day, no school
Nov. 21 - Parent-Teacher Conferences, half day
Nov. 23 through Nov. 25 - Thanksgiving Break

Dec. 23 through Jan. 6 - Winter Break

Jan. 9 - School resumes
Jan. 16 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school

Feb. 16 - Parent-Teacher Conferences, half day
Feb. 20 - Presidents' Day, no school

March 27 through March 31 – Winter Break

April 3 and April 4 - Teacher Institute Days, no school
April 5 - School resumes
April 7 - Good Friday, no school
April 10 - Casimir Pulaski Day, no school

LATE START: Classes will start late on Thursdays, beginning Aug. 18 through May 25, when school is in session. Grades 6-8 will start at 9:15 a.m., with grades K-5 starting at 9:30 a.m.
