Back To School: Cook County School Dist. 130 Calendar 2024-2025

BLUE ISLAND, IL — There are just a few short weeks of summer left, until students head back to school this month. Back-to-school planning has already begun in Cook County School Dist. 130, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2024-2025 school year.

The first day of school for K-8 students is Aug. 22, with the first day of PreK at Cook County School Dist. 130 schools in Blue Island, Crestwood, Alsip and Robbins.

Some dates are subject to change during the school year. We also suggest that you check the Dist. 130 calendar or your child’s school for late starts, early dismissals, exams, open houses, athletic and school events.

Here is the list of dates to know for Dist. 130 schools this school year:

Aug. 22 - First day of school, grades K-8
Aug. 26 - First day of school for Pre-K.
Sept. 2 - Labor Day, off
Oct. 11 – Teacher Institute, no student attendance
Oct. 14 - Columbus Day, off
Nov. 5 - Presidential Election, no school
Nov. 25 - Parent/teacher conferences, K-8 half day, no school attendance for Pre-K
Nov. 26 - Students not in attendance
Nov. 27 to Nov. 29 - Thanksgiving break
Dec. 23 to Jan. 3 - Winter break
Jan. 6 - School resumes
Jan. 20 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, off
Feb. 17 - Presidents Day, off
March 24 to March 28 - Spring Break
March 31 – School resumes
April 17 – Teacher Institute
April 18 and April 21 – No school

May 26 - Memorial Day, off
May 28 - Last day for Pre-K
May 29 - Graduation; half-day for K-8
June 4 - Last day of school, K-8
