Dates To Know For The 2025-2026 Cook County Dist. 130 School Year
The first day of school for K-8 students is Aug. 12 at D130 schools in Blue Island, Crestwood, Alsip and Robbins.
BLUE ISLAND, IL —Where did the summer go? There are just a few short weeks of summer left, until students head back to school this month.
Back-to-school planning has already begun in Cook County SD 130 for the 2025-2026 academic school year, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the new school year.
The first day of school for grade 1-8 students is Aug. 19 with the first day of kindergarten starting Aug. 20, and Aug. 21 for the early childhood program.

Some dates are subject to change during the school year. We also suggest that you check the Dist. 130 calendar in English and Spanish, or your child’s school (Kerr, Hale, Veterans, Revere, Lincoln, Washington, ANCHOR) for late starts, early dismissals, exams, open houses, athletic and school events, as well as your child's school.

Aug. 12 - First day of school, grades K-8
Aug. 14 - First day of school for Pre-K
Sept. 1 - Labor Day, off
Oct. 14 - Columbus Day, off
Nov. 10 - Teacher Institute, off
Nov. 24 - Parent/teacher conferences, K-8 half day, no school attendance for Pre-K
Nov. 25 - Students not in attendance
Nov. 26 to Nov. 29 - Thanksgiving break
Dec. 1 - Classes resume
Dec. 22 to Jan. 2 - Winter break
Jan. 5 - Teacher Institute, no school attendance
Jan. 6 - School resumes
Jan. 19 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, off
Feb. 16 - Presidents Day, off
March 17 - Teacher Institute, Illinois Primary Election, no school
March 30 to April 6 - Spring Break
April 7 – School resumes
May 19 - Last day for Pre-K
May 20 - Graduation
May 22 - Last day for K-7
May 25 - Memorial Day
May 26 through May 29, June 1 - Emergency days, if needed
