Dates To Know For The 2025-2025 Eisenhower High School Academic Year

BLUE ISLAND, IL — Where did the summer go? There are just a few short days of summer left, until students head back to Dwight D. Eisenhower High School this month.

Back-to-school planning has already begun in CHSD 218 for the 2025-2026 academic school year, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the new school year.

Freshman report for the first day of school Aug. 12, with all grades (9-12) reporting on Aug. 13. Some dates are subject to change during the school year. We also suggest that you check the CHSD 218 calendar (Richards, Eisenhower, Shepard) for late starts, early dismissals, exams, open houses, athletic and school events.

Here's a look at some dates to know for the 2025-2026 school year:

Aug. 12 - First day of school, freshmen
Aug. 13 - All grades report
Sept. 1 - Labor Day, off
Oct. 10 - No school
Oct. 13 - Columbus Day, no school
Nov. 10 - No school - Institute Day
Nov. 27-28 - Thanksgiving break
Dec. 1 - Classes resume
Dec. 19 - Last day of student attendance
Dec. 22 to Jan. 2 - Winter break
Jan. 5 - Teacher Institute, no school
Jan. 6 - School resumes
Jan. 19 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Feb. 9 - No school
