Calvin P. Adair

Resident of Crestwood

Calvin Adair, age 83, of Crestwood, IL, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, on October 2, 1941, Calvin spent his life building a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Calvin was a devoted husband to his wife Carol for an extraordinary 62 years. Together, they raised a family and shared adventures traveling to destinations like Jamaica and Key West. Calvin was the proud father of the late Steve Adair (Tami) and Joann, and the beloved grandfather of Colleen and Tom, with whom he shared countless happy moments, including cheering on his favorite team, the Chicago White Sox, at summer games. Calvin spent much of his career working at H.P. Smith and School District 130 as a bus driver, roles in which his kind-hearted and jovial nature made a lasting impression on many. Calvin was known for his quick wit, warm personality, and ability to connect with everyone he met. He cherished his time with his dog Marley, who now welcomes him in heaven. Memorial Day parties at Cal & Carol's were legendary, bringing together friends, neighbors, and family to celebrate and enjoy life. Calvin also found joy in sharing jokes and moments on Facebook, keeping his friends and family laughing even from afar. He is survived by his loving wife Carol, daughter Joann, grandchildren Colleen and Tom, sister Patricia (Gary) Kulhan, brothers Phil (Beverly) Adair and Bruce Adair, and brother-in-law Jim Hyzny. Calvin is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and their children. He was predeceased by his son Steve Adair (Tami). Calvin's life was a testament to the importance of family, community, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Visitation Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 12 noon at the BECVAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood. Interment Cedar Park Cemetery, 12540 S.
