Employee Fatally Struck Directing Semi-Trailer Into Loading Dock
A man was killed Tuesday while directing a semi-trailer into a loading dock at a private trucking company, Alsip police said.

ALSIP, IL — A man was killed Tuesday morning while directing a semi-trailer into the loading dock at an Alsip trucking company, police said. The accident occurred on private property.
Chief Jay Miller, of the Alsip Police Department, said that around 9:15 a.m., an employee of a trucking company at 11601 S. Central Ave. was directing a semi-trailer into a parking space. The man became caught between a parked truck as the semi-trailer was backing up, according to a preliminary investigation.
The man was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he died around 2:30 p.m. of his injuries. The Cook County Medical Examiner did not release the man’s name.

The accident is still under investigation by the Alsip Police Department with assistance from the South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team.
