Intersection of Western Avenue and 139th Street To Get Upgrades
Work will begin upgrading the traffic signals and installing ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps, weather-permitting, Monday, Oct. 17.
CHICAGO – Work on upgrading the traffic signals at the intersection of Western Avenue and 139th Street in Posen, Dixmoor and Blue Island will begin, weather permitting, Monday, Oct. 17. The upgrade may require daytime intermittent lane closures.
The project, which also includes constructing new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps, is expected to be completed in spring 2023.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
