Man Grabs Girl Walking Dog, Tries To Lure 2nd Girl From Car: Police
Crestwood police believe the same man to be involved in both incidents after child abduction attempts Aug. 3 and Aug. 6.
CRESTWOOD, IL — Crestwood police are asking residents to check their home security video of two separate attempts to grab or lure young girls.
Around 4 p.m. Saturday, a girl was walking her dog westbound near 137th Street and LaVergne Avenue. Police said a man was walking eastbound toward the girl. As she passed him on the sidewalk, police said the man turned around and grabbed her by the shoulders.
The girl ran away from the man to her home, where she reported what happened to her parents.

The second incident happened a few days later between 9:17 and 9:30 a.m Tuesday. According to police, a girl was walking southbound on Long Avenue from 135th Street to 137th Street. While the girl was walking, a silver car traveling northbound on Long Avenue pulled up to her. Police said the driver tried talking to the girl. When the driver opened the door to exit the vehicle, the girl started running to the home, where she reported the incident.
Crestwood detectives have been canvassing the neighborhoods looking for more information. Residents are asked to check their home security video for footage around the time of both incidents for suspicious vehicles or persons.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male.
