Moraine Valley Showcases Blue Island Education Center At Open Houses
Moraine Valley Blue Island Education Center will hold open houses July 29 to Aug. 1 featuring credit, noncredit and certificate programs.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Moraine Valley Community College will showcase its two neighborhood locations in Blue Island and Tinley Park during upcoming open houses.
Students and prospective students can check out both centers’ wide variety of open houses will showcase the centers’ educational offerings, of credit classes toward a degree or certificate as well as noncredit classes for personal development. The centers also offer FREE high school equivalence and English as a Second Language classes. Fall classes will begin in August, September and October.
The Education Center in Blue Island,12940 S. Western Ave., wil hold open houses July 29, 30 and 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Southwest Education Center, 17900 S. 94th Ave., Tinley Park. Its open houses will be held on Aug. 5, 6 and 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Aug. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Open house attendees will learn about the support services available at the centers, including admissions, registration, financial aid and course selection. In addition, attendees can tour the facilities. Staff will explain how people can get started taking classes near their homes or workplaces at the convenient centers.

“We are excited to show people how convenient it is to take classes at one of our extension sites,” Lindsey Zerbian, coordinator of the Southwest Education Center, said in a news release. “People can take classes in their own neighborhood. We have a wide variety of classes and provide support students need to be successful at both of our centers.”
