$1,053 To Babies Born Thursday At AHeights Hospital, Bank Vows
Northwest Community Hosptial is one of 19 Chicago-area hospitals participating in Fifth Third Bank's namesake day program.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Babies born Thursday at an Arlington Heights hospital will enter the world a bit richer than most thanks to Fifth Third Bank. Northwest Community Hospital is one of 19 Chicago-area hospitals participating in the Cincinnati-based financial institution's program to celebrate its namesake day of May 3 (that's 5/3 in numerals, in case you're wondering).
Every baby born Thursday at Northwest Community Hospital and the other participating hospitals will receive $1,053 gift cards from Fifth Third Bank, according to the Chicago Tribune. More than 200 babies are expected to be the lucky recipients of the gift cards to online retailers, as well as bank-branded onesies, the report added.
This is the second year Fifth Third Bank has recognized its namesake day by doling out money to newborns, the report stated. In 2017, the bank ran a similar program for more than 100 Cincinnati newborns, the report added.

And what does the financial institution hope the parents do with their found money? The bank will urge them to invest it in college saving plans, but the recipients are free to spend the money any way they like, the Tribune reports.
