ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A Huntley man is dead after being pulled from Lake Terramere in Arlington Heights Monday, just minutes after his paddle boat capsized, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department. Authorities in Cook County identified the man as 44-year-old David J. Fournier, according to the Daily Herald. Arlington Heights police and fire department crews responded at 3:30 p.m. Monday to the 4000 block of N. Terramere Drive after several residents called 911 to report a paddle boat had capsized, leaving several people in the lake, according to a release.
Police said everyone who had been in the boat made it out of the water. Fournier was administered CPR, in addition to advanced life support measures when he was taken to Northwest Community Hospital. According to police, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office is reviewing the case to determine the official cause of death, police said, but a preliminary investigation determined there were no signs of criminal activity, and no foul play is suspected. Fournier's death appears to have been an accident.
