11 Arlington Heights Runners Ready For 2024 Boston Marathon
The 128th edition of the prestigious race takes place Monday on Patriots' Day in Massachusetts.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The local community will be well-represented at the Boston Marathon on Monday. Eleven Arlington Heights runners will take part in the 2024 Boston Marathon. The prestigious race takes place on Patriots' Day in Massachusetts.
According to the race's website, a field of 30,000 athletes will compete in this year's Boston Marathon, which covers 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston. The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annually run marathon.

According to race officials, 30,239 participants entered last year's race, including 17,272 men, 12,940 women and the first-ever designation of non-binary entrants with 27. All 50 states were represented, as well as 106 countries.
