3 Dogs Killed In West Lasalle Street House Fire: Fire Officials

According to a report, authorities said the flames left the home uninhabitable with extensive damage.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Three dogs died in an Arlington Heights house fire Wednesday, authorities said, according to The Daily Herald. Firefighters were called to the fire around 10:15 p.m. in the 200 block of West Lasalle Street, after the homeowner dialed 911, the news report said. Deputy Fire Chief Pete Ahlman said when crews arrived, they found heavy fire conditions in the garage and back of the two-story home, according to The Daily Herald.

Chief Ahlman said crews were able to extingush the fire within an hour, however, authorities said the flames left the home uninhabitable with extensive damage. According to The Daily Herald, authorities are still investigating a cause of the fire and where it started.

No civilians or firefighters were injured, and Arlington Heights firefighters were assisted by Buffalo Grove, Palatine and Prospect Heights firefighters, the news report added.
