$4,350 In Jewelry Reported Stolen From Hospital Patient: AHPD

Police received several theft reports, many of which took place during the second week of June 2019 in Arlington Heights.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department responded to the following reports in recent days:

Theft

Arlington Heights police received a report of an unknown male offender removed a bike tire from a Trek bicycle while it was locked to a bike rack in the underground parking lot in the 500 block of N. Dunton Avenue (Memorial Library) at 9:03 p.m., June 13. According to police, the male offender was further described as Hispanic or Caucasian, 25 years old, wearing a white t-shirt, black and white Adidas shoes, white socks, and a white hat, worn backwards. The value of the bicycle tire is unknown at this time.

Criminal damage to property

Arlington Heights police received a report at 9:02 p.m., June 12 that an unknown offender(s) damaged the Falcon Park basketball court (2300 S. Goebbert Road) by leaving broken glass bottles and garbage, and spray painting graffiti and lewd pictures onto the court’s surface.

Theft

Arlington Heights police received a report between 12 p.m. and 12:20 p.m., June 11 of an unknown offender removing lawn equipment from an open air towed work trailer. The vehicle was parked in front of a home on N. Dryden Place and was left unattended, according to police. The lawn equipment was stolen out of the truck while the owner was in the back of the home, police said. The value of the stolen lawn equipment is $850.0o, according to police.

Retail theft

Arlington Heights police received a report of an unknown offender described as a black male hiding merchandise on himself and leaving leaving a Walgreens in the 1000 block of E. Northwest Highway without paying, between 7:45 p.m. and 8:02 p.m. Saturday, June 8. According to police, the man was further described as 25 to 30 years old, wearing a red baseball cap, a light green t-shirt, dark blue pants, and white sneakers. The total retail value of the stolen merchandise was approximately $599.43, according to police.

Theft

Arlington Heights police received a report of unknown offender(s) that unlawfully took jewelry from a victim while the victim was receiving treatment at Northwest Community Hospital in the 800 block of W. Central Road between 11 p.m., May 27 and 10 a.m., May 28. Police said the approximate value of the jewelry is $4,350.
