4-Year-Old Boy on Bike Killed After Being Hit by Truck

A 4-year-old boy was killed Monday afternoon after riding his bike into traffic on Oakton Street in unincorporated Cook County near the Mount Prospect and Elk Grove Village borders, the Chicago Tribune reports. 

The boy was declared dead at the scene after being hit by the rear axle of a semi-trailer truck, the Chicago Tribune reports. The truck was headed west on Oakton Street at the time of the accident, and no citations were issued.
