$500 Saw Stolen Among Recent Arlington Heights Crime

The Arlington Heights Police Department responded to these December 2019 crime reports.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department responded to several crime reports in the last two weeks:

Theft:

A suspect stole a table saw from the front yard of a property in the 100 lock of S. Ridge Avenue at 1 p.m. Sunday. According to police, the suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 40 years old, short, slim with dark hair, and wearing jeans and a dark jacket. He was last seen by the victim leaving the area in a small silver SUV with an unknown license plate. The saw is valued at $500, police said.

Theft:

On Saturday, between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., an offender(s) removed a victim's wallet from their purse, while the victim was dining at Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant in the 700 block of W. Algonquin Road. The wallet contained various credit and identification cards and approximately $60. The credit cards were later used fraudulently, police said.

Retail theft:

Four male offenders are accused of hiding and taking $1,065-worth in merchandise without paying from Dick's Sporting Goods in the 400 block of Palatine Road between 8:08 p.m. and 8:10 p.m., Dec. 13. All four black males are described as 6'3, tall, and thin.

The first male is reported to have had dreadlocks, and was wearing blue jeans with brown boots and a black shirt. The second male is said to have been wearing brown boots and a black coat with a furry hood that was pulled up over his head when he entered the store. The third male is said to have been wearing blue jeans and a black coat with a furry hood that was pulled up over his head when he entered the store. The fourth male is also said to have been wearing blue jeans with red, white and a blue patterned coat.

The suspects were last seen leaving the area in a red Ford Focus with an Illinois license plate. The same male offenders later committed another retail theft at a beauty supply chain in a neighboring jurisdiction, police said.
