AH Village Board Race Gets 1st Candidate For 2019 Election

Nominating petitions became available this week for 4 village trustee and 2 library trustee seats on April's ballot.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Illinois' gubernatorial election in November might still be nearly two months away, but nominating petitions for next year's municipal ballot in Arlington Heights became available Tuesday. Voters will go to the polls in April 2019 to elect four village trustees and two library trustees, as well as school district, park district and township positions, according to the village.

One candidate already has thrown his hat into the ring for an open village trustee seat, which has a four-year term. Tom Schwingbeck Jr., 60, told the Daily Herald this week that he would be running for the Village Board during the April 2 election.

Schwingbeck, who has lived in Arlington Heights for three decades, unsuccessfully ran for village trustee in 2015, and he was appointed to the zoning board of appeals that same year. He owns and operates RNM and Associates, a support business for Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin forging and casting companies. (Get Patch real-time email alerts for the latest Arlington Heights news.
