Arlington Heights School Hosting Sailors On Christmas Morning

It will mark the 13th year Christian Liberty Academy has participated in the event.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — For the 13th year, sailors stationed locally not able to go home for the holidays will have a special Christmas waiting for them locally thanks to an Arlington Heights school. Christian Liberty Academy will welcome the sailors from Naval Station Great Lakes o Christmas morning.

According to Greg Padovani, chairman of the Veterans Memorial Committee of Arlington Heights, sailors will be treated to a full Christmas dinner, unlimited treats, free phone calls home all day, video games and TV (all the stuff not allowed for them on base), and lots of well wishing.

A flag line along Ridge Avenue will welcome the sailors, all part of an effort that includes hundreds of people on Christmas morning. Padovani said all are welcome to greet the sailors starting at 9 a.m. at Christian Liberty Academy, 502 W. Euclid Ave.
