AHeights Memorial Day Parade 2018: When And Where To Watch It
A World War II veteran whose Army unit was featured in the TV series "Band of Brothers" will be the grand marshal for the 99th annual event.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A World War II veteran whose Army company was featured in the HBO series "Band of Brothers" will be the grand marshal for the 99th annual Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. The event is set for Monday, May 28.
Al Mampre, the grand marshal, served as a medic in Easy Company, 506 Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. His unit landed in Normandy and fought until the end of fighting in Europe.
The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Village Hall at Sigwalt Street and Arlington Heights Road. The procession then will march west along Sigwalt, north on Dunton Avenue, west on Euclid Avenue and finally south on Chestnut Avenue before ending at Memorial Park.

Following the parade, a ceremony will be held to honor veterans at around 11 a.m. at Memorial Park. The names of the 58 men from Arlington Heights died serving their country — from the Civil War to the war in Afghanistan — will be read during this ceremony.
All veterans are invited to post-parade ceremony. The village's annual "Remembering Our Veterans" will be taken then.

When: The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May, 28. A ceremony follows the parade at around 11 a.m.
Where: The parade's starting point is in front of Village Hall at Sigwalt Street and Arlington Heights Road. It ends at Memorial Park.
