Another Attempted Luring Case Reported Near AHeights School

"I have food for you," the suspect told a 5th-grade girl on her way to Ivy Hill Elementary School late last month.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Police are investigating another case of attempted luring near an Arlington Heights elementary school, police said Friday. This is the second time in nearly 10 days Arlington Heights police have received such a report.

According to police, the latest incident happened at about 8:45 a.m. April 24, around Ivy Hill Elementary School, near Valley Lane and Windsor Drive. A fifth-grade student was approached by a stranger driving a black, four-door sedan at this time as she was walking eastbound to the school on Valley Lane, police said.

"I have food for you," the suspect told the girl. "Get in the car."

When the girl refused to get in the car, the suspect drove away eastbound, police said.

A police sketch of the suspect was released by police Friday. He is described as a man in his 20s, of average height and weight. He was wearing a black hat and black sweatshirt at the time of the incident, according to police.

Police received an earlier report of attempting luring involving two girls — one 9 years old, the other 10 — as they walked from Olive-Mary Stitt School after classes were dismissed April 13.

According to police, the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. April 13 near Olive-Mary Stitt School, 303 E. Olive St. A man peered out from behind a nearby bush and motioned to two girls — one 9 years old, the other 10 — as they walked out of the school after classes were dismissed, police said.
