Arlington Heights Crime Alert: Stolen Items Not Stolen, Green Thief

The Arlington Heights Police Department releases crime alerts weekly, and asks for the public's help by reporting information you may have confidentially.

Reported Burglary

A victim living in the 600 block of W. Braeside Dr. reported that a black massage table ($150), red Honda snow blower ($560), two blue canopies/tarps ($600 total) and a blue/gray/yellow Trek bicycle trailer ($300) were taken from an unsecured shed in the backyard – sometime between Aug. 13 at 4 p.m. and Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m. UPDATE: It was determined the items were removed by a contractor who believed the shed was on the property he was hired to rehab. The items have since been returned to the owner.

Theft

Two unknown offenders entered Gamestop, 214 E. Rand Rd. and one asked about a Playstation game system on Aug. 22 at 3:20 p.m. While the employee went to the back of the store, the second offender ran behind the counter and took the employee’s white Apple iPhone 4 ($400). Both offenders then flood and were not located. The first offender is described as a black male, standing 6’1” weighing between 180 and 200 lbs. and wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. The second offender has the same physical description as the first, but was also wearing a black baseball cap.

A full green/tan Groot 65 gallon recycle bin ($50) was removed from a residential parkway in the 1400 block of W. Maude Ave. sometime between Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 22 at 8 a.m.
