Arlington Heights Man Attacked Cop, Hurt Grandmother: Police
The 19-year-old male has been charged with four felony offenses and one misdemeanor in the March 18 events.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department said a 19-year-old male has been charged with several felony offenses after a domestic battery complaint involving his grandmother led to him running from officers before attacking one. Police said officers responded to a domestic battery complaint on March 18 in which the 79-year-old victim identified her 19-year-old grandson, Jerrell L. Kibble, of the 200 block of N. Dunton Avenue, as the offender. According to police, the victim was taken to Northwest Community Hospital by the Arlington Heights Fire Department.
According to police, Kibble left the scene and was found by an Arlington Heights Police Department officer in the 800 block of N. Walnut St. and was combative, refusing to follow the officer's directions. Kibble attacked the officer, causing a physical altercation during which the young man tried to remove the officer's gun, bit the officer's right thumb, and hit the officer in the head several times, according to police.
The officer then used his department-issued Taser to subdue Kibble and placed him under arrest, police said, adding that both Kibble and the officer were treated and released from Northwest Community Hospital.
