Arlington Heights Man's Death Ruled a Suicide

The man's body was found in a Barrington Hills forest preserve on Wednesday. An autopsy was conducted Thursday.

An Arlington Heights man whose body was found in a Barrington Hills forest preserve took his own life, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner, which ruled his death a suicide on Thursday after an autopsy.

Timothy Anderson died of multiple sharp-force injuries, the coroner ruled.

Anderson, 38, left home early Monday but did not go to his job at a bank. His body was found in the Spring Valley Forest Preserve at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday during a search by police and volunteers that included helicopters and dogs.

He was found in a lightly wooded area, surrounded by blood, and he was not wearing a shirt.

Anderson’s car was found near the preserve at the intersection of Donlea and Bateman Roads at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Anderson, a bank executive and father of two young boys, last was seen at his home at 4:30 a.m. on Monday, according Arlington Heights police. He did not show up for work at Northern Trust Bank on Monday.

His wife, Cathrall Anderson, told reporters she thought her husband had gone to the gym that morning. When he didn’t arrive at work, she called police. She and her husband have two sons, ages 6 and 3.
