Arlington Heights' Palm Court Open Again For Delivery, Carryout

Palm Court Restaurant in Arlington Heights opened its doors on Tuesday for carryout and delivery orders.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Palm Court Restaurant, 1912 N. Arlington Heights Road, has been a staple of the Arlington Heights community for the last 40 years. Although it's been closed for the last three weeks under a state mandate from Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the upscale restaurant, which combines European influences into American cuisine, began carryout and delivery services this week.

George Theodossopoulos, who has owned the restaurant for the last two years, said he opened the doors on Tuesday after receiving an outpour of community feedback about whether they would offer delivery. The following day, Theodossopoulos said orders had doubled, which is leaving him optimistic about his business persevering through the coronavirus pandemic.

"I hope we all weather the storm and come out of it from the other side all united and I can't wait until we all unite again and rejoice and celebrate," Theodossopoulos said.

In the weeks following the announced closure of non-essential businesses, Theodossopoulos said he has been able to catch up on some repairs and overall upkeep to his restaurant, including outdoor and indoor painting, renovation of the piano lounge area, bar repairs and a reorganization of the kitchen. Because it has been difficult to perform maintenance on a business operating seven days a week, Theodossopoulos said work will continue as long as the business closures are in effect.
