Arlington Heights Police Blotter: Burglaries, Thefts Reported

Attempted Burglary
Someone attempted to enter a locked apartment in the 300 block of Seegers Road while the resident was at home at 6:54 p.m. on Dec. 19. The individual was able to pick the lock without force. The resident of the apartment opened the door and the individual asked if a specific person lived there. When told the person did not, the individual left.
Jewelry Stolen
A home in the 600 block of W. Hintz Road was burglarized sometime between Dec. 13 and Dec. 21. The residence was entered through an unlocked front door. The homeowner reported that about $5,500 in jewelry was taken from the master bedroom of the house.
Briefcase, Laptop Stolen
A black briefcase was taken from the lobby of an office building at 171 W. Wing Street on Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. while the owner was getting their car from the parking lot. The black leather brief case was valued at $50 and contained a black Sony laptop computer valued at $4,000, a black iPad 5 valued at $700 and several endorsed business checks.
Perfume Removed
Several bottles of perfume were taken from Ulta Beauty, 456 E. Rand Road, on Dec. 11 at 7:09 p.m.
Apartment Burglarized
The rear sliding glass door of an apartment was forced open sometime between Dec. 9 and Dec. 10 in the 2400 block of N. Kennicott. Taken from the apartment was a black iPad 3 valued at $500, a jewelry box containing 17 necklaces and 9 pairs of earrings.
