Arlington Heights Police Blotter: Car Stolen From Dealership
The following information was provided by the Arlington Heights Police Department.
Home Burglarized
The rear patio door of an exterior window of a home in the 800 block of W. Berkley was forced open on Dec. 16. Jewelry was taken from a jewelry box in the master bedroom.
Vehicle Stolen
A white 2014 Ford Escape valued at $21,642 was taken from a storage lot on University at Arlington Heights Ford, 801 W. Dundee Road. The keys were removed from the new car inventory board at the dealership.
Scam Warning
A woman was called by individuals over the course of several days. The individuals were able to convince the woman to wire $2,600 via Western Union. The callers convinced the elderly woman that her grandson was injured in a DUI accident and needed money for an attorney. The woman made two wire transfers to the callers. The callers pretended to be the grandson and two attorneys.
