UPDATED: Arlington Heights Police Investigating Death of 50-Year-Old Found Friday in Home

A 50-year-old Arlington Heights resident was found dead in a home near Park Street and Phelps Avenue on Friday.

Commander Mike Hernandez with the Arlington Heights Police Department told Arlington Heights Patch the cause of Verden's death is not yet known. Law enforcement is awaiting toxicology results which could take a few weeks.

The man found deceased on Friday in Arlington Heights was discovered in the trunk of a parked car in the 2100 block of E. Park Street, according to the Daily Herald. 

The home where the car was parked, the Daily Herald reports, belongs to the parents of 50-year-old Scott Verden who was pronounced dead shortly after 4 p.m. His sister told the paper he was struggling with personal issues for some time.

Arlington Heights Police are investigating the death of 50-year-old resident Scott Verden, who was found in his home unresponsive and pronounced dead just after 4 p.m., according to the Daily Herald. 

The paper reports an autopsy was scheduled fro Saturday morning. Calls to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office have not yet been returned to Arlington Heights Patch, to identify a cause of death. 

Police told the Daily Herald there is no believed threat to the neighborhood and they continue to investigate the death.
