Arlington Heights Woman Accused Of Stabbing Parents To Death
The Arlington Heights woman is facing two felony counts of first-degree murder, according to a police report.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — An Arlington Heights woman is facing first-degree murder charges in the weekend stabbing deaths of her parents, police said. According to the Arlington Heights Police Department, 43-year-old Deborah Martin, of the 0-100 block of S. Derbyshire, was arrested when officers responded to the home for a well-being check at 12:32 a.m. Saturday after someone called 911 from inside the home, leaving the phone line open with no response. Police said first responders forced entry into the home Martin shared with her parents after an unresponsive female was seen on the kitchen floor.
According to police, investigating officers located 71-year-old Anne Martin and 72-year-old David Martin, both unresponsive inside the home. Police said the elderly couple was pronounced dead at the scene by Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics.
While examining the two victims, officers said they were met by a woman, later identified as Deborah Martin. She was taken into custody and later brought to the police station for questioning, police said.

According to police, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office examined the victims and determined both died as a result of several stab wounds.

Felony murder charges against Deborah Martin were approved by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office as a result of an investigation by police and Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) Forensic Technicians.
Martin was due in court Monday for a bond hearing.
