The Arlington Heights woman was released from prison on April 5, 2019 after serving five years for several other charges, report said.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — An Arlington Heights woman is back in custody in DuPage County nearly two weeks since being released from prison April 5 after serving five years for several unrelated charges. According to The Daily Herald, 31-year-old Nicole Crook, of the 1600 block of East Central Road, is accused of stealing a car from a South Elgin fitness center. Crook is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving with a license suspended after her fourth DUI, and is being held on $25,000 bail, according to the news report.
Lisle Deputy Police Chief Ron Wilke said the victim in the case reported her 2016 Mercedes C300 stolen around 9:15 p.m. Thursday from the parking lot of a South Elgin Life Time Fitness, and added that police believe Crook took the keys out of the victim's jacket, which was hanging in the fitness center's locker room.
Thanks to the car's internal GPS, Lisle police were alerted to its location within 10 minutes of it being stolen, the Daily Herald said. According to the news report, Wilke said officers found Crook in the driver's seat of the stolen car at the Mobil gas station at Yackley Road and Ogden Avenue. Crook is set to be arraigned on the most recent charges on May 10, the Daily Herald said.
