Bicyclist Injured After Collision With Prius: Elk Grove Village PD

The incident on Wednesday night shut down several roads into the early morning hours, according to police.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — A bicyclist was injured Wednesday night following a collision with a Toyota Prius. Elk Grove Village police said the bicyclist was taken to Lutheran General Hospital by the fire department after medical aid was provided at the scene.

Police responded to the accident at around 10:33 p.m. at Busse Road and Oakton Street. The car was traveling northbound on Busse when the collision occurred with the bicyclist, who was traveling eastbound on Oakton. Police said the driver of the Prius remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. A determination of who was at fault has not been determined.

The roads were closed for several hours, reopening at 2:46 a.m. Thursday.
