Bike Stolen From Frontier Days, Other Crime: Arlington Heights PD

Police received several theft and damage reports, many of which took place over the week of Fourth of July 2019 in Arlington Heights.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department responded to the following reports in recent days:

Retail Theft

  • Arlington Heights police received a report of a two black female suspects who reportedly entered Marshalls located in the 300 block of E. Rand Road around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, and took items off the sales floor before reportedly bring the items to the register for a fraudulent return. According to police, the suspects are said to have not had a receipt in the exchange for store credit in the form of gift cards. Police added that both suspects were seen on surveillance video hiding merchandise before leaving the store without paying for the items. According to police, the female offenders were last seen leaving the area in an early 2000s model Chevrolet Monte Carlo with no license plate. The total retail value of the merchandise is pending further investigation.

  • Arlington Heights police received a report at 11:15 a.m. Friday of an unknown offender(s) stealing a victim’s wallet after the victim left the wallet unattended near a meet and greet room at Happiness is Pets on Gold Road, while interacting with puppies. According to police, the wallet contained $37, keys, various credit cards, and identification cards.
  • Arlington Heights police received a report of an unknown offender(s) unlawfully stealing a victim’s electric scooter between 7 p.m., July 4 and 1 a.m., July 5, after the victim left the scooter unattended in the driveway of their home in the 700 block of E. James St. The scooter is valued at $200.
  • Between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, Arlington Heights police received a report of an unknown offender stealing a victim's bicycle after the victim left the bicycle unlocked in a bicycle rack in the 1900 block of N. Kennicott Drive (Frontier Park).
  • Between 7:20 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday, Arlington Heights police received a report of an unknown offender stealing a victim's bicycle after the victim left the bicycle unattended while attending Frontier Days (500 E. Miner Street).

Criminal Damage to Property

  • Arlington Heights police received a report of that an unknown offender(s) damaged the window to Fuschay Salon, located in the 800 block of N. Wilke Road, between 2:45 p.m. and 2:50 p.m., July 3, causing the window to shatter. According to police, the damage to the window is consistent with damaged caused by a pellet gun, and a witness reportedly observed the offenders using the pellet gun from inside their SUV, while the offenders were traveling northbound on Wilke Road. Police said both offenders were described as white with dark-colored hair. The vehicle was described as an SUV with a Wisconsin license plate, according to police. The cost to repair the damage is approximately $2000.
