Body Found In Busse Woods: Police

The discovery was made after a motorist reported noticing a person lying in the woods at about 9:30 a.m., police say.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — The body of a dead person was found lying in Busse Woods on Saturday morning, police said.

A motorist noticed a person lying in Busse Woods, near Higgins Road about one mile west of Arlington Heights Road, at around 9:30 a.m., police said, citing "initial information."

The department would only say that emergency responders found a dead "female" and began a death investigation.

The Elk Grove Village Police Department was made aware of the investigation, which is being conducted by Cook County investigators, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

"We are not involved in the investigation, however, we are always in communication with area law enforcement agencies should any information be needed or shared," the post read. "There is no threat to the Elk Grove Village community and we have no active missing person reports."

Additional details were not released.

Both county's forest service police and the Sheriff's office declined comment.

In an email to Patch, Mount Prospect police spokesman Greg Sill said the department is investigating a report of a missing person in the village.

"We are communicating with the Cook County Forest Preserve Police regarding their investigation in Busse Woods, in the event that they are connected," he added.

If there any more information to share, he will provide an update, he told a reporter.
