Body Pulled From Lake Arlington Believed To Be Missing Person: PD
Sonar detected the body Friday morning after police said that belongings of a missing person from Wheeling were found on shore.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Arlington Heights Police are continuing an investigation into the death of a person whose body was found in Lake Arlington on Friday morning, police said.
Police were called to Lake Arlington Friday morning after receiving a call from a person who said they found personal belongings near the boat launch. Police discovered that a vehicle belonging to the person was found in a nearby parking lot. Officers also learned that a family member from Wheeling had reported the person missing and had concerns about their well-being, police said.
Divers from multiple police agencies were called to the scene while drones were sent out to search over the water, the shoreline, and nearby wooded areas, police said. At 11:15 a.m., a fireboat’s sonar detected an anomaly about 30 feet from shore from where the belongings were found, police said.

Divers were able to find the body, which was recovered and taken to shore. Paramedics determined that there was no chance of resuscitation, police said Friday afternoon. The body was turned over to the Cook County Coroner’s Office, which will conduct an autopsy, police said.
The police are not releasing the identity of the victim. While the investigation continues, police said there is no public safety risk to the public.
