Boy, 14, Accidentally Shot And Killed While Friends Passed Around Gun In Prospect Heights, Police Say

A juvenile was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting.

CHICAGO (CBS) — A 14-year-old boy was killed on Friday in northwest suburban Prospect Heights, when another teen accidentally shot him while friends were passing around a gun.

Prospect Heights police said, around 3:15 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a call from a person requesting an ambulance for a person with a gunshot wound at an apartment in the 500 block of Piper Lane.
