Call By Citizen Leads To Arrest Of Bank Robbery Suspect: Elk Grove Village PD

The burglary occurred Thursday afternoon at a bank in the 1100 block of W. Devon Avenue.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — An arrest in a Thursday afternoon bank robbery has been made. Elk Grove Village police are crediting a citizen, who saw some suspicious activity in the area while at a local business, and called police. The robbery had occurred at a bank in the 1100 block of W. Devon Avenue.

The suspect, described as a male in his 20s initially, was taken into custody Thursday near Rohwling and Nerge roads. Police said he matched the description of the person involved as seen on video near the robbery. The suspect has since made statements to police regarding his involvement in the incident.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody of the FBI Friday morning for further investigation and charges, as the robbery occurred in a federally regulated bank.
