Coronavirus: Foot Care Facility Acting As Urgent Care Center
First Step Foot Care in Arlington Heights will serve as an urgent care center during the coronavirus pandemic.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — First Step Foot Care in Arlington Heights, 149 W. Rand Road, will be extending its state of the art facility to serve as an urgent care center for foot and ankle issues through the coronavirus pandemic. The aim is to ease the burden put on emergency rooms and acute care centers through pandemic, according to First Step Foot Care founder Dr. James Flood.
The decision was made at the direction of the Centers for Disease Control and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Another coronavirus-related precaution the facility is taking is telemedicine appointments.

"This technology will ensure access to our patient population [and] to our team of physicians should foot and ankle needs arise," Flood said in a coronavirus update on the facility's website. "We have established decontamination protocols and integrated technology into our infrastructure that provides the utmost safety to the patients seeking care at this facility."
