"I am honored to be chosen by my peers to serve as the Cook County Chairman again," Del Mar said. "I look forward to making significant gains in Cook County and pushing back against the ultra-progressive administrations of Mayor Brandon Johnson and Toni Preckwinkle. I would like to thank Chairman Morrison for his hard work and dedication to the party for almost a decade, and I thank him for his strong commitment to the Cook County Republican Party."

According to the GOP, Del Mar will fulfill the one year remaining in Morrison's term and will be concentrating on recruiting candidates both countywide and for State House and Senate races. He plans to build a robust fundraising engine to support the party and candidates and work to turn out Republican voters in Cook County. Del Mar emphasized the importance of unity within the party and the need to present a strong, cohesive front to challenge the current administrations.
