Gallagher Named New Finance Director, Treasurer In Arlington Heights
Melissa Gallagher, who assumed her roles on Feb. 3, was previously the chief financial officer for Lake County.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Earlier this month, Melissa Gallagher was approved as the new finance director and treasurer for the Village of Arlington Heights. The Village Board signed off on her appointment during its Feb. 3 meeting. Gallagher assumed the roles on that date.
According to the Village, Gallagher had previously served as the chief financial officer for Lake County, where she oversaw a $640 million budget and led a team of 23 employees serving 30 operational departments.

"We are thrilled to welcome Melissa Gallagher to the Village of Arlington Heights," Village Manager Randall Recklaus said. "Her extensive experience in government finance and leadership will be a tremendous asset to our Village. Melissa’s expertise and strategic vision will complement our outstanding Finance staff, ensuring the continued financial strength of our community."

Prior to her role for Lake County, Gallagher was the senior accountant to the finance director in Rolling Meadows before becoming the finance director during a 15-year career in that city. She also has eight years of experience with the Illinois Department of Labor.
Officials said "throughout a competitive and rigorous selection process," Gallagher demonstrated "exceptional leadership, financial acumen, and innovative thinking. The Village is confident that her extensive experience and strategic vision will enhance its financial operations and strengthen the community’s fiscal stability."
