Grilling Safety Tips This Season

Patch has put together some tips on how to grill safely.

You've probably already smelled it outside - grilling season has begun.

And while grilling is on of the most popular ways to cook, according to the National Fire Protection Association, it can pose dangers if safety is not taken into consideration.

  1. Only use propane and charcoal grills out doors
  2. Half of the injuries involving grills are thermal burns, so be aware of wearing the right safety gear.
  3. The grill should be placed well away from structures and overhanging branches.
  4. Make sure to inspect the line of a propane grill before using.
  5. Be sure to properly allow the charcoal coals to cool before disposing of them in a metal container.
