Holiday Light Recycling, Tree Collection Available In Arlington Heights

Lights can be recycled through March 27, while trees will be collected on solid waste collection days through Jan. 10.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — With the holidays over, residents still have time to recycle holiday lights and have their Christmas trees picked up.

According to the Village of Arlington Heights, residents can bring unwanted or broken holiday lights for recycling through March 27. Two spots for drop off are:

  • Public Works, bin at front Door, 222 N. Ridge Ave. Available any time
  • Arlington Heights Health Department at Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Christmas trees will be collected on solid waste collection days for residents through Jan. 10. Landscape waste stickers are not necessary for Christmas trees. Plastic bags must be removed from Christmas trees.

For garlands and wreaths, residents can dispose of these as refuse, with no sticker required.
