Krispy Kreme's Pumpkin Spice Doughnut On Sale Thursday

HOMEWOOD, IL — The craze around pumpkin spice-related products might've jumped the shark, according to online food website Eater, but no one passed along that memo to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. (It was probably included in the same memo that mentioned the phrase "jump the shark" had, in fact, jumped the shark.)

That's a good thing for pumpkin spice lovers in some certain Northwest Suburban communities, though. It means foodies around these parts will be able to sample Krispy Kreme's Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut. The special seasonal pastry only will be available Thursday at the national doughnut chain's stores throughout the Chicago area, including the location at Elk Grove Village, 412 E. Devon Ave.

And what should customers expect from their Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut? It's the classic glazed doughnut, "with a hint of cinnamon and pumpkin spice flavor," according to the chain. Plus, it's prepared like Krispy Kreme's other doughnuts: fresh and warm.

The Elk Grove Village shop and the drive-through window are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
