Labor Day Drunk Driving, Seat belt Crackdown In Arlington Heights
Here's when the Arlington Heights Police Department is taking part in the statewide crackdown.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department announced its plans for a Labor Day traffic safety campaign centered on drunk, distracted and unbuckled drivers. According to a release from the police department, the high-visibility crackdown across the state will run from Friday Aug. 16 through the holiday weekend, and into the early morning of Sept. 3. The department said it's partnering with the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement for the increased patrol efforts, including a roadside safety checkpoint, happening Aug. 16 on Rand Road and Beverly Lane.
The department reminds community members to assign a sober driver and don't let friends or family members drive drunk over the Labor Day holiday, as even a small amount of alcohol can impair judgement and reaction times, leading to unsafe driving.
