Live Bullet Discovery Leads To Early Dismissal Of Students: Rolling Meadows PD
The school had been placed in "hold" status Tuesday afternoon as police continue an investigation.
ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — After a student discovered a live bullet within the building Tuesday afternoon, Rolling Meadows High School students were dismissed early and afterschool activities at the campus have been canceled. According to the Rolling Meadows Police Department, no threats were made to students or staff, and an investigation continues.
A student reported to school staff at around 12:30 p.m. that a live bullet was discovered within the school building, and it was immediately turned over to staff.
Rolling Meadows detectives responded to the school to assist resource officers with the investigation, and the campus at 2901 Central Road was placed in "hold" status to facilitate the investigation.

Police are continuing to work with partners at the high school, as well as Township High School District 214, "to ensure the safety of students and teachers at RMHS and to bring this incident to an appropriate resolution."
