Mobile Park Fire Causes $100K In Damages To Homes: Mount Prospect FD

Fire Chief Tom Wang said "quick actions" by the responding crews prevented a second home from being fully involved.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A fire that broke out Sunday afternoon at the Oasis Manufactured Home Park resulted in $100,000 in damages. No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters.

According to the Mount Prospect Fire Department, Engine 11 arrived on scene along Eisenhower Road at around 3:24 p.m. to a fully engulfed manufactured home. Officials said flames were impinging on a neighboring residence, and firefighters immediately started putting out that fire, before extinguishing the fire in the originating home.

"If it were not for the quick actions of the initial arriving engine company, this incident would have resulted in a total loss of a second manufactured home," Fire Chief Tom Wang said. "This fire also underscores the importance of having working smoke detectors, which provide early warning and give occupants valuable time to escape."
